Our October Roundup ~ 5 Things I Loved

October has been a super fun and busy month for us.  We’ve been lucky enough to enjoy some brilliant family days out and have met some of our favourite TV characters too.

So the clocks have now gone back and the nights are drawing in.  Personally, I love the cosy nights in that the Winter months bring so I’m not overly bothered, but I have to admit, I will miss the warmth of the Summer.  I cannot bear being cold!

Hudson is speeding around now and they are both keeping me on my toes.  Wouldn’t have it any other way though, they seem super happy at the moment.

So, lets not bore you any longer.  Here’s what we have been up to this October.

The 5 things I loved about October

PJ Masks Halloween Party

We was invited down to Piccadilly for a PJ Masks Halloween bloggers event last week.  The boys love to watch the PJ Masks on Disney Junior and so I knew the event would be a big hit with them.

We made our own PJ Masks, took to the dance floor with Diddi Dance, and Mummy got her face painted.  Then the PJ Masks arrived!

We got to hug Gekko, had photos taken with Catboy and was entertained by Owlette during lunch.  After some family group photos we headed to the cinema screening to watch some unseen episodes of PJ Masks and you could have heard a pin drop.  All of the children were captivated!

You can read all about the Party, and find out about the brand new episodes and characters in our recent blog post: PJ Masks Halloween Party.

Legoland Windsor

We absolutely love Legoland.  It’s our favourite place to visit using our Annual Merlin Passes and is just about 40 minutes away from us by car.  We’ve managed three trips there this year and the place just never gets boring.

The boys absolutely love the MiniLand area of the park, and its fab that they can both enjoy most of the rides.  We’ll definitely be renewing our Merlin passes next year, we certainly get our monies worth.

Day Out With Thomas at Didcot Railway

We can’t get enough of the Day Out With Thomas events!  We’ve been to The Watercress Line and Didcot Railway events this year and the boys have loved them both.  Seeing their favourite engines in real life form is just amazing for them.

They are HUGE Thomas fans and play with their trains at home everyday.  Jack could tell you the name of every train from the Thomas and Friends series and has learned his colours and numbers using his trains.  Thomas works wonders in our home :D.

Jack’s Haircut

The curls have gone.  I was in two minds whether to have his hair cut or not, but decided that it was time for the curls to go.

He wasn’t very impressed with the Barber but he seems to like the result.  Mummy and Daddy thinks he looks gorgeous and suddenly, he looks so grownup.

This is his grumpy face following his trip to the barbers, but the lollipop certainly earned the barber a High-5 from Jack.

Messy Play

I stumbled across a local Messy Play event, by Mess Around (on Facebook) and took the plunge.  Whilst it may have been a messy affair, the boys thought it was brilliant.  We dressed suitably 😀 and got stuck in.

We will definitely be going again, the boys slept for hours afterwards and Mummy managed a soak in the bath too.  WIN!

So, how was October for you and your family?  What was the highlight for you?  Are you looking forward to the cosy nights in too, or dreading the winter months?

I’m dragging the boys out now to go Pumpkin Picking.  At Tesco, but hey-ho!

Happy Halloween.

Although we often think of October as going into the damp colder months, there is still loads to love in and about it. Thanks for sharing some of yours
