We’ve been having some fun preparing for Halloween by making crafts and decorating the living room. I love that Jack is now old enough to enjoy the fun that Halloween brings.
We started by making some paper bats which was super simple. I drew a bat outline onto some black card and cut the bats out with scissors.
Jack helped me to stick the googly eyes to the bats and help stick the bats to the stairs.
We then went on to make a cotton wool ghost which Jack loved. Again, I used some black card to draw the outline of a ghost and Jack had lots of fun getting messy and sticking the wool balls to the ghost with PVA glue.
We gave Jack the option of a sad or happy ghost and thankfully, he opted for a smile. Nanny suggested a great idea, to cut off the ‘tail’ and to turn the ghost into a snowman for Christmas 🙂
Whilst Jack and Nanny created the ghost above, I got a little creative and made a giant spider for the wall. I used black balloons, a bin liner and plenty of sellotape. Anyone got a spider catcher?
When Daddy got home, he carved a pumpkin for us which we added to some props that we had already bought for the sideboard.
We think Daddy did a good job!
I love that Jack enjoys crafting and I plan to do plenty more with him now that the colder days and nights are drawing in.
Do you love Halloween and crafting too?
