Gumigem Teething Jewellery – Official Ambassador

Exciting news announcement:  We are an official Gumigem Ambassador.

Over the next year, we will be working alongside Gumigem to bring you our thoughts on their silicone teething jewellery collection.

Hudson and I shall be putting the jewellery to the ultimate test and some of our mummy and baby friends will be joining us too.

Gumigem Silicone Teething Jewellery

The new award winning Gumigem range, is entirely baby proof mummy jewellery designed to look great, but with baby in mind.

With baby safety at the forefront, Gumigem have stepped away from the small beaded designs in favour of elements which exceed current safety standards.

Many nursing necklaces are made from hard beads which many dentists feel is not ideal for emerging teeth due to the potential risk of wear and damage.

The new range stands out from the traditional line of beaded items and boasts modern and cool designs keeping mummy on trend.

From Top to Bottom: Burnt Orange Realm Ring, Jazz Pendant Soul, The Spinner Dawn

All of the jewellery in the new range is soft, flexible, non-toxic, washable and of course, chewable.

Gumigem pieces can withstand high temperatures, be easily washed in hot water or placed in the dishwasher.

The necklaces come on a long cord, so there is plenty of reach for baby, and for extra comfort and safety, each necklace has a breakaway clasp.  It is important that babies only interact with any necklaces when worn by an adult.

Our thoughts this quarter…

Over the last few months we have been sent four items from the new range to try; a Jazz Pendant, a Realm Ring, The Spinner and a Bijoux Bangle.  The necklaces are pictured above and the bangle below.

The Jazz Pendant is an eye catching polished pendant on complimenting cord.

It has smooth edges and is nice and chunky making it perfect for Hudson to grab and chew.  It feels light to wear and I have had some nice comments about the necklace when I have worn it out.

The Bijoux Bangle being put to good use by Hudson

Ooohh, now I love the Bijoux Bangle!  It is made to look like a beaded bangle but is one solid piece.  I love the Lagoon colour, its my favourite so far.

It is great that the bangle can be used as an independent teething aid as it means I can leave Hudson unaccompanied when he is using it.  It is easy and comfortable for him to hold.

He has been getting plenty of comfort from the bangle and is pretty much chomping on it all day.

The Spinner Dusk

I really like The Spinner, it has a disc which spins within a ring, on a silky black cord.

The disc has a different colour on each side (coloured one side, silver to match the ring on the other), giving Hudson a surprise when turned and me the choice of which colour to wear on show.

*£1 from the sale of each Dusk coloured Spinner necklace is donated to the Kicks Count charity.*

Meet our Mummy and Baby friend…

Meet Paige and Caleb, they have been testing the Realm Ring necklace for us.

The necklace is a simple classic design, looped onto a cord which can be adjusted to the desired length.

We asked Paige and Caleb to share their thoughts with us over a round of quick fire questions.

Q1. Briefly tell us about your baby’s teething experiences?

This may be my fourth boy but they have all been different in teething.  Caleb is already teething at 5-months.

Q2. Your thoughts on the Realm Ring necklace?

I love the Gumigem necklace, mostly because Caleb loves it.  I am always wearing it, which means that it is always to hand for Caleb.  It feels very robust.

Q3. Your top teething tips?

At the first signs of a teething baby always have a teether and teething gel ready to hand.  Plenty of bibs come in handy too.

Q4. Your favourite thing to do as a family?

Our favourite thing to do recently is to snuggle up and enjoy movie evenings together with our duvets.

Q5. Why do you love being a mum?

I love being a mum because no two days are the same.  It’s great fun, so rewarding and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

We had a Gumigem pendant for our youngest and he loved it. They are fantastic for teething and of course are a valuable distraction technique for tricky parenting moments.

I have to agree, I’d normally have gone for teething rings before but the jewellery is great and a perfect gift I think x
