Jack’s Day Out With Thomas

We recently had a fantastic Day Out With Thomas at Didcot Railway Centre and wanted to share our fun with you.  If you have a small Thomas fan in the house, then this is an experience you won’t want them to miss.

On arrival, we was greeted by some of Thomas’ friends outside the Engine Shed and Jack’s face was a picture.  My eyes genuinely welled up when I saw how shocked and excited he was.

Through-out the whole day, Jack looked dumbstruck…

We enjoyed a wander around the Museum and also the Engine Shed, where we met some more of Thomas’ friends.

The absolute best moment of the day was when we first saw Thomas coming down the line in all of his glory.  I shall never forget Jack’s face, he could hardly believe his eyes and even I got excited.

We enjoyed a ride on the back of both Thomas and Mavis, the train rides operating that day.  I love this photo below, Jack is wearing his usual ‘Mummy, no more photos’ face.

Jack taking it all in…

We watched one of the shows before heading to the picnic area for some lunch.  Jack and Daddy enjoyed a little run around…

Meanwhile, Hudson and I watched on in amusement…

There was Thomas-themed activities taking place all day and the staff were all very friendly.  We even got to meet The Fat Controller, although, he was a lot slimmer in real life 🙂

The day was absolutely brilliant and one we shall never forget.  I cannot wait to do it all over again next year when Hudson shall be on his feet too.

That looks like fun! Sadly that’s just a little too far away from us for a day trip, but it’s worth remembering if we are ever down there for any reason!

Oh the memories. I can remember taking my Daughter on Thomas at Kidderminster back in 1997. She was jumping with joy !

Oh this looks brilliant! I’m glad I read this because we’re not too far from Didcot and my girls love Thomas so we’ll have to treat them to a day out there soon.
