Erm, how is it September already? August came and went in the blink of an eye for us, but it was nothing less than epic for our family.
I absolutely love the Summer, so it is sad to wave it goodbye for this year. However, as Autumn is my favourite season, I’m really excited. Pretty Autumn colour displays, cosy nights in, comfy clothes and hot stodgy food are all very welcome. Plus, Halloween and Bonfire Night, are some of my favourite times of the year.
So, without further ado, here are …
The 5 things I loved about August
The Ford Wedding
Obviously, my absolutely favourite thing about August (well this year actually), was marrying the love of my life – Trevor. Wahoo. I now share the same family name as my boys and that means everything to me. Everything about our Wedding day was perfect. We had a lovely day with our family and friends, the sun shone all day and everything (well almost) went to plan.
Also, I got to tick-off two items on my 40 before 40 Bucket List.
Hudson’s First Steps
As of August, we have a second toddler in the house. God help us.
Hudson is now walking, albeit a little wobbly still, but he has finally taken his first unaided steps at 14-months. He looks incredibly proud of himself whilst waddling around the house and I’m so excited for him. Well done little man!
Champagne Afternoon Tea at The Vineyard
A very lovely friend treated me to a pre-wedding surprise, of Champagne Afternoon Tea at The Vineyard, Stockcross.
Never have I been served food so beautifully, a true delight to the eyes (and mouth!). Homemade cakes, warm scones and neat finger sandwiches, all served with Tea and of course, Champagne.
Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park
We had been wanting to go to Paultons Park for a while. As Daddy was on a weeks leave following the wedding, we decided that we would visit before the Summer drew to a close.
We had a fantastic fun day, and I loved that the boys could enjoy most of the rides. If you have a Peppa Pig fan in the house, then this Theme Park is a must! Luckily, Paultons Park is under an hours drive for us, so we definitely plan on visiting more next year.

Day Out With Thomas at The Watercress Line
We have two huge Thomas the Tank Engine fans in our house, and so when we heard about Thomas coming to The Watercress Line, we just had to surprise them.
We met Thomas, Diesel, Toby and The Fat Controller. We enjoyed a ride aboard Thomas and the Miniature Railway. Took part in the Thomas themed activities and had fun on the tea-cups and in the playground. It was a brilliant day for letting off some steam and we plan on visiting again in December for the Santa Special.

So August was certainly kind to us this year, and I hope it was to you too.
What did you get up to during the Summer? Are you excited about Autumn too?
