3 days across 8 Counties = A weekend to remember

Our new car certainly got a run-out this last weekend, she saw 8 Counties in just 3 days but wow, what a weekend.

On Friday evening, we travelled down to London to visit family.  The car was bursting (as usual) and our itinerary was a very busy one this time.  Nanny and Grandad was extremely excited to see their Captain Jack and made plenty of fuss as always.

On Saturday, Nanny took Jack for a walk to the local Pie ‘n’ Mash shop.  My favourite local east-end dish which I pretty much grew-up eating.  Imagine my disappointment when Jack wasn’t so keen.

Meanwhile, Trevor and I headed off to the local retail park to hit the Next sale.  4 pairs of shoes and 3 pairs of jeans for me and a whole load of clothes for Jack later, this mummy was a happy girl.  Finally, the maternity jeans can be packed away after just 6-months.

That evening, my mums entire family headed by coach to Chelmsford for a family party.  It was my Aunty Valerie’s 50th and the night was a fab one.  Trevor and I enjoyed a boogie (not boggie for once) whilst Nanny and Grandad got to spend some time with Jack.  Unfortunately, Jack’s little waistcoat suit was quickly removed on arrival as he had decided to poop a good-one all over it.  He spent the rest of the evening much more comfy 😉  The journey home was an eventful one full of alcohol-fuelled-spoken-nonsense.

Sunday, we headed off from London and into Chatham to meet up with Trevor’s school friend Natalie and her family.  They had kept in touch ever since school and we had been promising to meet up for ages.  Well we did finally and had a smashing day at the Historic Dockyard Chatham before heading for a pub lunch by the water.

The Dockyard is a great place for families to visit and our entry pass is valid for a year so we will be visiting again.

That evening, Trevor and I was suppose to be having our first date night since Jack was born but I went to bed instead with a sickening headache.

Ever since I can remember, my dad has had a fascination with the Lancaster Bomber so we promised to take him to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford on Monday.  We was all up nice and early and was soon on our way.  We was all surprised at just how much there was to see and do there, we all loved it.  We all went aboard the Concorde and loved the Lancaster and Memphis Belle.  With everyone happy and topped-up with ice-cream and cake, we headed home after buying some goodies in the shop.

I’d highly recommend a visit to IWM Duxford, it was brilliant and we had paid with Tesco Clubcard points so it was pretty much a free day out.

Monday evening, Trevor and I did venture out for our date night to see the new Terminator Genisys movie and we were certainly not disappointed.  What a film!!  You can read about our date night here.  Jack stayed at home with Nanny and Grandad.

Our weekend was definitely fun-packed and it was smashing catching-up with everyone.  Certainly a weekend to remember.  Thanks to everyone involved xx

Oh no at the mash and pie, maybe he will like it when he is older. Sounds like a lovely busy weekend. Sorry but I did laugh at the poop, Ava at Christmas got a beautiful outfit from family, we put it on and she straight away poo’d all up the back of it! Thanks for linking up to #PickNMix

Wow! You really did manage to fit a lot into your weekend! I can’t believe you managed all that in one weekend. Lot of fun for you all and nice to catch up with family and friends. It looks like the dockyards were a real hit. 🙂 x

I like the sound of the entry ticket last a year – means you will most certainly be back.

Oh no, hopefully he’ll like the pie and mash when he’s older. This sounds like such a hectic weekend. I love Next! Especially their sales, although I can never get their early enough to get the good stuff. Yay to no more maternity jeans, although I must admit they’re super comfy. I still sometimes wear my maternity tights haha. Especially if i’m going for a big meal.

I am sorry but I did laugh at Jacks poop. It’s so typical isn’t it, as soon as you get a baby looking lovely they poop or sick everywhere! It’s great that you got some couple time to dance though. You’ve captured some lovely moments! Please don’t say any spoilers about Terminator! I’m so jealous you’ve seen it! 😀 Thank you so much for linking up with #whatevertheweather. x

I certainly hope he likes Pie n Mash as I wont be able to show my face amongst the family 🙂
Haha – the worst thing is I doubt the suit will fit him any more – £30 well spent!
Def go see the Teminator, its brilliant. Very jumpy though so be prepared xx
