You may have noticed over on Instagram recently that we have been taking part in the VTech Tour De Trike Campaign, in celebration of the new 5-in-1 Stroll and Grow Trike.
We’ve been putting the new VTech Trike to the test in our local area of Newbury and have designed an official ‘Trike route’ for you to enjoy. There will be up to 30 other routes up and down the UK available on the VTech website soon.
VTech 5-in-1 Stroll and Grow – Our Initial Thoughts
The Trike was nice and easy to assemble and took Trevor no more than 20 minutes whilst the boys were in bed. Both Hudson (1) and Jack (2) were excited to find the Trike waiting for them in the morning and immediately began checking it out.
After a quick play around with the electronic activity panel, Hudson hopped on first and Jack took to steering him around the living room. We could tell straight away that the Trike was going to be a big hit!
It’s great that the new Trike is suitable from 9months to 6 years. It means that both of the boys will be able to get plenty of enjoyment and use from it.
Also, because it grows with your child from such an early age, the boys will both benefit from being able to master each new stage; Stroller, Training Trike, Trike and Drift Trike.
VTech 5-in-1 Stroll and Grow – The Stages
The VTech 5-in-1 Stroll & Grow Trike starts your baby learning at 9 months and continues through to 6 years, with the waterproof electronic activity panel and it’s four modes of play.
Featuring a 5 point seat belt, safety bar, steering, pedal and brake locks for safety and a 180° canopy for sun protection.
At the back there is a large storage unit for parent essentials. Baby can be pushed along in the strolling mode using the adjustable parent handle.
In Trike training they can learn how to pedal. Pedaling will activate the motion sensor triggering music.
In Trike mode learn how to steer and pedal. Turn left or right to hear the directions and discover new places by interacting with the electronic activity panel.
Once steering and pedaling have been mastered your child will have hours of fun in the exciting drifting mode where they can enjoy sliding as they turn!
VTech 5-in-1 Stroll and Grow – Our Review
The boys and I were ready to get going as soon as Trevor got home from work. With the Trike set in strolling mode, Trevor took control of the steering and we headed for our local park.
Following some time in the park, we begun creating our route and headed off towards Newbury Town.
Hudson was more than happy on the Trike and clearly enjoyed being pushed around. The handling was nice and easy, and the ride looked pretty comfortable. The Trike handled all terrains pretty well and was stable up and down curbs and along uneven paths.
Hudson did need a little prompt every now and then to play with the electronic activity panel. He seemed too absorbed in what was going on around him to give it too much attention. I’m guessing that it would be used more by those a little older. Jack certainly seems more interested in the activity panel.
We think that the new VTech 5-in-1 Stroll & Grow Trike is reasonably priced at £109.99 and would certainly recommend it to others. The Trike is available from major retailers such as Argos, Amazon and Toys ‘R’ Us.
VTech Tour De Trike Campaign – Newbury Town Route
So, the idea behind VTech’s Tour De Trike Campaign is to inspire families to get out and about! VTech invited us to create a Trike Route in our area for local families to enjoy. You can find a map of our route below.
Our official Tour De Trike Route takes you for a stroll round the historic Town of Newbury. With plenty of pedestrianised paths and a park to stretch your legs at either end, this is the perfect way to spend a family day out. Along the route you will pass historic buildings and find places to eat, shop and play.
