We’ve needed some much needed time away from The Love of a Captain Blog, simply because life has been pretty hectic. We’re excited to be back now though and apologise for leaving it so long. Here’s a little life update from us.
An update from Hudson
At almost two, Hudson is quite a character and has most definitely reached the testing twos stage. Full of cheekiness, our little dare devil is full of independence and is growing up fast.
Hudson certainly likes his food, he will honestly eat anything you give him, which is fab. I think he has a secret tummy hidden somewhere as he just never stops.
Hudson has his 2-year health and development review soon, and I’m expecting that to go well. His vocabulary is suddenly picking up well and he is speaking new words all the time. ‘No’, however, has been his favourite word for quite some time now, as well as ‘Daddy’.
His birthday is only a month away now, and we’ve been so busy that we are yet to arrange anything. We want to organise a party for him and have a nice family day out somewhere fun to celebrate.
An update from Jack
Jack is three now and has recently started pre-school. The first few days were difficult as expected, but he is doing brilliantly. We are so proud of him. He now kisses us goodbye at the door and goes into class perfectly happy which is a huge relief. He already talks about certain little boys and girls, so is clearly making friends, which we are so pleased about. Jack’s gorgeous backpack is from the Skiphop Zoo Collection.
His speech in recent months has come on brilliantly, he is speaking full sentences now and is able to hold a conversation comfortably.
Jack remains very fussy with his food, but does occasionally try new things so there is a little improvement. He certainly has a sweet tooth like his mum, I hold my hands up to that one.
An update from Mummy and Daddy
So Trevor and I recently celebrated having been together for 5yrs. We enjoyed a weekend of family fun with the children and enjoyed a visit to Milestones Museum. I want to tell you all about our visit to there soon, as Milestones is an absolutely brilliant place to visit. We’ve already been three times this year and the children love it.
We await the final results of The Wedding of the Year Competition that we entered with the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding Magazine. The voting for the final round has recently closed, and we hope to hear some good news soon. Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for us recently.
You may already be aware that back in November we started our own family run business with another family who live locally to us. Both families have young children and continue to work, whilst building the new business in our free time. This is the main reason that we have been so busy recently, but we are loving what we do and hope that the business turns into a success for both families.

We are currently planning a ‘road-trip’ style family break for the Summer where we hope to visit various different family friendly attractions throughout the UK. If you have any suggestions then please do let us know, we are already considering Drayton Manor, Sundown Adventureland, Paultons Park and Diggerland Yorkshire. Thanks
So, I’m going to close off now but it’s good to be back.
