Review: Lavender and Stone Beauty Rooms

Lavender and Stone has four beauty salons in Bushey Heath, Harpenden, Beaconsfield and Bourne End.  The company is run by Managing Director Anna Nickless, and is growing rapidly.  More salons are planned within the Home Counties.

I have to admit that my skin care regime is pretty poor.  Generally I struggle for time to do anything more than wash my face daily in the shower.  Occasionally, I like to exfoliate my skin (when I stagger across the tube in the bathroom cupboard).  Only once previously, have I enjoyed a facial and massage during a spa experience day and that was about ten years ago.

Really, I should make my time for myself as recently I have noticed that my skin has started to show signs of aging.  At the age of 35, fine lines are already noticeable, especially when I smile or wear makeup, and dark spots are starting to appear on my forehead and cheeks.

Recently, Lavender and Stone kindly invited me to choose a beauty treatment to try, in preparation for my upcoming wedding day.  Without hesitation, I decided that a facial treatment would be perfect and advised Anna of my skin concerns.  The ELEMIS BIOTIC Radiance Renew treatment was recommended and an appointment made at my local Bourne End salon.

All of the treatment rooms were in use during my visit, so I could only get snaps of the reception / nail care area and my treatment room.  The salon was neat and clean, and the decor was modern and fresh.  The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful.

My appointment began with a consultation and skin analysis in order for my therapist, Kim, to examine my skin condition.  We discussed my beauty regime and lifestyle and recommendations were made on how to better improve and maintain my skin.  I never realised just how important it was to apply SPF daily, especially in the UK where we rarely see any sun.

The lights were dimmed and for the next hour plus, Kim went on to complete my targeted Radiance Renew facial.  An added bonus was the lovely neck, shoulder and scalp massage during the process.

ELEMIS BIOTEC Radiance Renew treatment

Each BIOTEC facial combines a unique high-potency activator and specially designed ELEMIS Skin Lift Touch.  Using the power if hands-on therapy, the Skin Lift Touch softens and prepares the skin.  Significantly improving skin function, it enables it to convert energy from each technology and “receive” the actives more effectively.  All whilst re-balancing the skin’s micro-flora.

The Radiance Renew treatment goes on to target tired face and eyes with the brightening Radiance Activator, rich in anti-oxidants, hyaluronic acid and peptides.  Ultrasonic vibrations draw impurities to the surface and exfoliate, whilst galvanic current with elderberry and orange flower extract re-energise and restore vital moisture.  Skin appears more radiant and luminous, whilst helping reduce dark circles around the eyes.

The whole treatment felt wonderful and it was nice to enjoy some aduItconversation with Kim, who was absolutely lovely.

Following the treatment, we headed back to Reception where Kim applied a little makeup using a range of Jane Iredale products.  I half expected the treatment to leave me looking red and flushed in the face but there was none whatsoever.

The Results

My skin has since felt and looked great.  Without a doubt, my skin appears much clearer and there has definitely been a reduction of dark areas.  My skin looks hydrated for the first time in ages and feels lovely and smooth to the touch.  There are no longer any blackheads around my nose or chin areas and there has been no breakout of spots.  I genuinely feel more confident about my appearance and will absolutely be booking a further appointment following the wedding.

I would definitely recommend this treatment to anyone looking to see real skin improvements.

That sounds like pure bliss. I haven’t been to a spa for a treatment in so long and have managed to book one for October with a friend. It’s a lovely way to grab some much needed me time and relax. Glad you enjoyed it x
