Review and Competition: HiPP Organic Food

It is no secret that Jack loves his grub.  He began his weaning journey at 4 months as his milk was no longer satisfying him.

We started Jack with the HiPP Organic jars to be sure that he was ready and he took to them straight away.  HiPP Organic, the original baby food company, prides itself on creating baby food for every stage of a little one’s weaning journey.

There is a good reason that HiPP Organic won gold for best baby food brand in the Prima Baby Awards.  I love that the jars contain organic ingredients and meet our boy’s nutritional needs.  The ingredients are gently steam cooked to maintain all the goodness & flavour.

We found the different ranges of jars to have a good variety amongst its breakfasts, dinners and desserts and they have definitely played a big part in Jack’s weaning process.

Jack’s favourites amongst the 4+ Month range were the Banana Yogurt and Creamy Rice breakfasts and Tasty Vegetable Risotto for dinner.  The textures in this range are smooth and the tastes mild in order for babies to take to weaning easily.

The 6+ Month range steps it up with a more mashed consistency to help babies learn to chew and the 7+ Month range a little further with thicker and chunkier textures.  The Spaghetti Bolognese dinner and Apple and Vanilla dessert were a huge hit with Jack.

He has also enjoyed the fruit pots, especially through the summer, they seemed to keep him refreshed nicely.

Unfortunately, Jack didn’t take to finger foods too easily to begin with and he wasn’t very keen on blended food.  We have found the jars to be perfect for Jack, especially convenient when travelling away.

Recently, we received a Christmas selection of lovely HiPP Organic foods to review.  On Christmas Eve, Jack enjoyed the Scrumptious Sunday Lunch and the Red Fruit and Apple Compote along with a banana for his afters.  He demolished both of them.

For his dinner, he tried one of the trays for the first time, the Hearty Vegetable & Beef Casserole tray which is suitable for 1-3 year olds.  His meal times are more established these days and so I was intrigued to see how he took to it.

The portion size was very good and the ingredients were nice and chucky.  After 1 minute in the microwave, it was ready to serve to little man and it wasn’t long before he was tucking in.  He managed about half the portion before he was full, we could have easily got two meals out of the tray.  I did try some of the casserole and have to say it was really tasty and smelt good.  I’ll definitely be trying Jack with more of these.
