Review and Competition: WOW Toys

We was first introduced to WOW Toys at a local WOW Play Zone.  Each time we visit, Jack loves to spend plenty of time playing with his favourites, Flip ‘n’ Tip Fred and Dexter the Digger.

Award winning WOW Toys have designed and created a brilliant range of durable and safe toys, with no small parts, batteries or PVC.  They are colourful and fun early learning toys perfect for little ones.

Our lucky boy Jack was recently sent the new London range (Autumn/Winter 2016) to play with for the purposes of review.  The range includes London Bus Leo, London Taxi Ted and The Palace Guards.

WOW Toys

WOW Toys London Bus Leo

One of Jack’s first words was Bus, he points out the Double Decker bus when we visit my parents who live in London.  I thought he might recognise London Bus Leo straight away and sure enough he did.

WOW toys

The push along bus has a friction powered motor and is a colour and shape sorter with 6 blocks.  The push-button feature opens the back door to release the blocks.

The front windscreen can also be opened and Will, the driver figure, can be removed and played with separately.

wow-bus-top

Jack enjoyed playing with the bus and pushing it around his road mat.  He also enjoyed placing the blocks into the holes at the top of the bus before opening the back door and starting all over again.

WOW Toys London Taxi Ted

Taxi Ted also has a friction-powered motor and push-button function which opens the roof.  The taxi includes Tommy the driver and his passenger Zoe.

wow-taxi-top

Jack loves Taxi Ted, he has a fascination with the button function which releases the roof to reveal the figures.  He constantly removes and replaces them between the taxi journeys around his mat.

The Palace Guards

I love these figures of the iconic Palace Guards.  The set includes a Queen’s Guard and Sentry Box, a Yeoman Warder (aka. Beefeater) and a Queen’s Life Guard and Horse.

WOW Palace Guards

Jack enjoyed placing the different figures upon the horse and moving it around the mat.  I tried to teach him the noise made by a horse but failed miserably.  He looked at me like I was mad and decided that the horse would make the ‘brum’ noise of a car instead.  So cute!

wow-horse

I think that WOW Toys are very well-designed and perfect for heavy-handed toddlers.  They are great for fine motor skill development, role-play and exploration.

I have already spoken to Santa about gifting Jack with some more WOW Toys for Christmas as he always enjoys playing with them.

Wonderland Advent Calendar

WOW Toys was also kind enough to send Jack this Christmas Advent Calendar with a difference.  Instead of the usual chocolate calendar, each day in the lead up to Christmas reveals a toy figure which can be matched with the numbers on the fold down play scene to create a Christmas world.

WOW Advent Calendar

This Advent Calendar contains 24 toys including 1 push-along Santa car, a fun-filled activity sheet, as well as exclusive figures and a build your own tree and snow man.

Christmas Advent Calendar

Jack hasn’t seen this yet, but I’m sure he is going to love it.  It will be perfect in the countdown to Christmas.

There is also a Farm Advent and Town Advent available on the WOW Toys Website.

Versatility, e.g. Toy vehicle and shape sorter. Love the London theme as we have friends who live in London. We do visit London on occasions. The children would love these toys.
