Most people spend the next few weeks exercising and dieting, shortly before forgetting about their New Year’s resolutions altogether. As a Mum, it is safe to say that my resolutions will be somewhat different this coming year.

Take more naps
There is a reason why sleep deprivation is used as a form of torture. Next year, I shall make every attempt to make friends with my bed again. After all, we use to get on so well.
Spend more quality time with Trevor
Taking some time to enjoy each others company is much needed. It is very rare that we get to sit down and chat, to snuggle up on the sofa or take time out from the boys.
Catch up with friends
Finding the time to catch up with friends, face-to-face, has been tough going this year. Modern friendships have been made much easier thanks to social media but the odd text message really is no substitute for a good catch up over a cuppa (or glass of wine).
Be kind to myself
I’ve never felt so worn out, nor looked so haggard, in my life! It might seem easy to schedule a little time out, but since having the boys, “me” time is near impossible. In 2017, that’s all going to change.
I vow to shave my legs at least once a fortnight (yes, really!), apply mascara in the morning and lock the door when I’m taking a pee. My wardrobe shall also be taken care of and I shall find the time to fix my split tummy muscles, once and for all.
Stop being late all the time
This one may sound ridiculous but it is possible that I have never been on time for anything in my life. I must try harder.
Turn blogging into my career
It began as a hobby, but blogging is now my escape. Maternity leave pay is no fun and so I’d love to see a steady income from my blog. It’ll mean that I can work from home, doing something that I genuinely enjoy.
