We all know that leaving the house with a small child is a military mission in itself but a changing bag really is an essential piece of survival kit, so it’s important to get it right.
If there is one thing I have learned since becoming a mum, that is to always expect the unexpected, so I try to cover every eventuality within my changing bag.
Now with 2 under the age of 2 to consider, I need to be a lot more mindful and keep my packing to a minimum. Here is a sneak peek into my changing bag…
For my two, the key essentials I always carry include:
- Changing mat
- WaterWipes Baby Wipes
- Tesco Nappies
- Bepanthen Nappy Care Ointment
- Tesco Value Nappy bags
Some extras that I always like to carry include:
- Dettol antibacterial surface wipes
- Vital Baby Sanitising Water
- Hand sanitiser gel
- Sterilised bottle and milk for Hudson
- Snack and drink for Jack
- Change of clothes
- Spare muslins
- Spare dummies
My changing bag has replaced my handbag so I always carry a couple of items for me too:
- Small hairbrush and hair band
- Sanitary wear
- Wallet and phone
As soon as I get home, I always replace anything that I have used. It’s a good routine to get in to as you never know when you might need to leave the house in a hurry.
