My 4D Scan Experience with Babybond

This week, we visited Babybond in Newbury for a 4D ultrasound of ‘Baby Dot’.  Wow!

Throughout this pregnancy, I have had a fascination with what our new addition might look like.  I often compared Jack’s 20week scan photo with the baby’s and just couldn’t wait to see baby’s face up close.

At a recent Expectant Parent Event at Mothercare Newbury, we met with Debbie who is the sonographer for Babybond located within the store.  It was then that I decided that I had to book one of the 4D scan options.

I decided on the Babybond 4D Bonding Scan (Option 3) and booked in for Sunday 13th March.  The day couldn’t come quick enough.

On arrival to store, Debbie was ready and waiting for us.  The reception area and scanning room was decorated lovely with plenty of comfortable seating for visitors.  There was also some toys in the scanning room to keep Jack entertained.

Debbie got underway with her wellbeing checks.  She was able to see straight away that baby was growing away nicely and measuring well.  She pointed out baby’s different body parts and features which was really great to see.

What came next simply blew me away!  Debbie zoomed straight into baby’s face and brought ‘Dot’ into focus.  Apart from a small amount of cord that covered the top part of baby’s face, Debbie was able to get some amazing images.

Seeing the baby open its eyes, poke out its tongue and scratch its nose was brilliant.  Debbie also managed to get a great shot of the sole of its foot – so cute!

I cannot put in to words how I felt, seeing baby in such amazing clarity on the big screen.

The Babybond 4D Bonding Scan (Option 3) includes the below items and is ideal between 24 – 32 weeks gestation:

  • 30 minute extended diagnostic appointment
  • Babybond wellbeing checklist (fetal heartbeat and movement etc)
  • Growth report with fetal weight estimation
  • Complimentary sexing of baby, if requested
  • 2D and 3D b/w prints taken throughout the scan
  • Babybond 1GB blue USB memory-stick of 3D still images (jpeg format)
  • 1 x colour gloss 3D scan print with choice of white, blue or pink Babybond bag

Pregnancy is an amazing stage in a women’s life and because it is likely that ‘Dot’ will be our last, this scanning experience meant the world to me.  It was definitely one of the biggest highlights of my pregnancy.
