Yesterday, we had a 33-week growth scan to see how baby is developing. As always, the image of our baby on screen gave me goosebumps and a smile from ear-to-ear.
The sonographer, who has scanned both ‘Dot’ and Jack for us, went about her business by checking over baby and doing measurements.
She is always so lovely and showed us baby in all its glory, even a face-on view.
Thankfully, she confirmed for me that baby is now head down which came as a relief and that my fluid levels are normal.
Here comes the shocker….
‘Wow’, she said, baby has a large head already and then went on to suggest the same about baby’s belly.
When she had finished carrying out her measurements, she entered all her findings into her PC, which is when I saw on the screen “Growth Demonstrates Possible Acceleration”.
She went on to tell us that baby is weighing at approximately 6lbs already – WTF! That’s the average weight for a baby between 35-36weeks.
I can’t wait to discuss the findings with the Specialist Midwife at Thursday’s appointment to discuss my birth options. I really do not want a C-Section and so hope that they may induce me slightly early. Wish me luck, I’m going to need it. 🙂
