Captain Jack – 11 months

Our boy is 11 months old today.  It’s hard to believe that we’ll be celebrating his 1st birthday this time, next month.  We’d better get planning and fast!

A month of mixed emotions for us, it’s been a little tough but also very exciting.  We’ve had some big highs and a couple of lows but Jack has done good.  He’s our champ.

Jack seems to be growing at the speed of light!  He now has some 18-24mth clothing in circulation.

This month Jack started nursery whilst I returned to work following maternity leave.  It was really tough for me and Jack was tearful for a couple of days but is doing really good.  It has thrown his sleeping pattern out a little which hasn’t been helped by the Christmas term break but we hope that will settle down when he gets into his nursery routine.

He is now the proud owner of 8 teeth and loves showing them off with a cheeky grin.  He had a brief period of grinding them but thankfully that phase has passed.

Jack enjoyed the build up to his 1st Christmas with a couple of Grotto trips and plenty of family time.  He wasn’t so sure of Santa but we managed to get some good snaps.

Christmas Day was brilliant, Jack woke up at 9.30am (WTF!) and had no idea what was in store for him downstairs.  Santa had most definitely popped-by, I couldn’t believe how many pressies Jack had.  He was a lucky boy.

When we brought him down, he had no idea what to make of his colourful boxes and was more interested in helping daddy unwrap the lager.

It wasn’t long before we was helping Jack tuck into his pressies but with every toy came about 20 minutes of play time.  We unwrapped his final present on Boxing Day at about 4pm, seriously!

As you can see below, he certainly loved his new toys and the highlight for us was watching his face light up with joy.  He was all smiles.

This month has been amazing for us as a family, some truly magical moments have been had.  I have no doubt that over this next month Jack will take his first steps.  He has been gaining confidence with his standing and walks along naturally when we hold his hands.

He really does fill me with pride and is my most amazing achievement in life for sure.  We are so lucky to be his mummy and daddy.  We are truly blessed.

Ha you are so patient. I would have ended up opening some for him so I could see what was in them 😉 Glad it sounds like you guys had a lovely first Christmas with Jack, hopefully we will get to see you all at least a couple of times this year. Happy New Year lovely, and I’m glad he settled at nursery even though I know how hard it must be for you.

Lovely post. Jack got so many presents at Christmas! Where on earth did you find room for them? So lovely to read about how close he is to walking. He’ll be up and about in no time. I’m glad he settled into nursery well too ????.
